Babbling baby
More and more our house if being filled with the sweet sounds of babbling. I never dreamed that it would be as delightful as it is. So, last night I took a video of Hannah as she "read" a book outloud. This probably went on for a good 30 minutes or so. It was awesome! Sorry for the dark lighting, but really it is about the audio anyway. Enjoy!
Blocks
Hannah received this block set for Christmas and she loves it. But, what she loves most is when you build a tall tower of blocks and let her knock it over. She will crawl across the whole room with delight in her eyes just to crash the tower. It is really cute.
Pop and Papaw found this out this weekend and I was told that they built quite a few towers for her.

Raiding the pantry
While I was cooking/cleaning/washing dishes yesterday I found out that Hannah can keep herself quite occupied in the pantry. So, off she went. She loved pulling everything down and opening and closing all the packages of food. I love her curiosity for new things!
P.S. Please don't pay attention to the messy pantry - just focus on the cute baby.

Well, we all made it through the weekend and it was wonderful. I had a fabulous time on the women's retreat and felt like is was just what I needed to be refreshed in the Lord. It was beautiful there too and the women were absolutely incredible!!! Hannah has spoiled rotten here by her Daddy, Pop, and Papaw. There was much cuddling, playing, reading, and laughing, so I hear. Overall, I think it could not have been a better weekend and I am SO thankful that I went. Hannah is doing much better physically and besides a slight stuff/runny nose she is back to herself. I cannot tell you how delighted I was to see her today. It is amazing how much you can miss your baby while you are gone for just 48 hours!
3 Men and a baby. This is one loved little girl!

This was the view that we had from our room window in East Texas. Incredible! Thank you all for praying for our weekend, it was better than expected! Thanks Pop and Papaw for coming over and loving on Hannah!

Out of town
I am leaving today for a weekend women's retreat...without Hannah. I am really exicted about the retreat, not so excited about leaving my sweet baby. This will be my first time to be away from her for more than a couple of hours. She will be in the very capable hands of Jason and his dad though. Pop is flying into town today to spend the weekend here. My dad, Papaw is also planning on coming in tomorrow to join in on the fun. I am sure Hannah will be pampered and spoiled like she never has been before. What a blessing that she has so many people around that love her so much!

She is feeling a bit better today. She slept for the whole night last night and seems to be on the mend despite still having a bit of a stuffy nose.
So, I pray this weekend is refreshing for me as a I leave and delightful for "the guys" and the baby here at home. Maybe they should watch 3 Men and a Baby just for kicks tomorrow.
I will let you all know how it went when I get back on Sunday.
I will miss this sweet face until then!!!
Rant and Rave - From Hannah's perspective
RANT: Hannah HATES this thing!!! I am sure if she could throw it away she would. Everytime I bring it out to suction her nose she begins crying. If only she would learn how to blow her nose, we would not have this problem.
RAVE: This thing worked wonders last night. We bought the Vicks Cool Mist Humidifier and put it in Hannah's room last night. She slept through the WHOLE night which was a far cry from the night before. We will be employing this thing for many more nights to come!

Grins and Giggles
We bought a baby toothbrush over Christmas for Hannah and every night before bed Jason brushes her teeth (all 2 of them!) and gums. SHE LOVES IT!!!!

It is not really a toothbrush but more of a massager that goes over your finger. Anyway, she chews on it while you brush and thinks it is some kind of toy. When Jason brings it out each night she gets all excited and happy. Let's hope this carries over to when she is about 5 or 6 years old and dreads the toothbrushing routine each day. Check out this cutie....JPG)
Oh no!
After a sleepless night of waking up about every 20 minutes (that is NOT a joke or even an exaggeration) we found out this morning that Hannah has an ear infection. YUCK! She was so uncomfortable last night that we ended up doing what we swore to never do...we gave in and let Hannah sleep in our bed!!! That is the first time that she has ever slept in our bed, and she was not even a good sleeper at that. She is really stuffed up and has a low grade fever so we went to the doctor early this morning. We have some medicine now and hopefully she will be on the upswing in a few days. We are praying for a much better night tonight and for a happy, healthy baby.
In other news...I think our child has the metabolism of an olympic athlete! She weighed 17 lbs. 1 oz. at her 6 month appt and today she weighed 19 lbs with clothes, shoes, a jacket, and a hat on. She nurses 5 times a day and eats 3 meals of solid foods so I have NO idea where she is packing it all away. Clearly she did not get my metabolism!

Fun with friends
Our friends Kelly, Crystal, and little CJ came over yesterday to hang out for a few hours. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. Kelly read Harry Potter to Hannah.
Check her out...she's ready for some real tennis shoes. Hannah was fascinated with touching Caleb's face. I am so excited for the day when they can play together, that will be really fun.
Isn't he adorable?!?! He is 3 months old now.
I love this picture! So sweet!

This cracks me up...
Added - I cropped the photo of Hannah below to show more of her face in a close up. You can see even more of the resemblence between her and Jason (like there needs to be any more!).
I have always teased Jason that most of his baby pictures show him not smiling (not that he was not a happy baby, but he just always had a cute serious face). Here is just one like that.

Anyway, if you don't coax a smile out of Hannah, this is what you often get. I think she doesn't really like the camera. She is definitely not a baby who breaks out in smiles and laughter when the camera comes out. This is totally fine with me, by the way, I think it is just part of her somewhat serious personality coming out. So, we call these pictures "the Jason face." Still absolutely adorable in my opinion though!!!

She loves food
This new "big girl" food kick has made Hannah quite a happy little girl. Food preperation takes a bit longer now then it did before since I have to get several different foods and cut them up into acceptable bites. Hannah seems to enjoy it though.
I finally got some good toothy smiles. She is clearly enjoying this new food adventure.
It makes my day to see this cute smile!
