Our 2 girls

Lots of people have asked how Molly has adjusted to having a baby around the house. Instead of explaining it to you, I thought I would just give you video evidence. Suffice it to say that Molly is indeed Hannah's favorite toy/friend. Jason and I are a distant second.

Quick video update

Since I have not posted a video in awhile I thought I would update everyone on Hannah by showing her improvement in crawling and standing. She is EVERYWHERE!!! Whew, it tires me out just thinking about it.

Such a helper

Since Hannah is crawling and pulling up now she likes to "help" me do the household chores, like laundry. When I was switching loads from the washer to the dryer she was checking to make sure it all got in.

This is how you lose baby socks. Notice the sock on the ground that Hannah pulled out...HMMM, she still needs some practice before we start giving her an allowance.

What?! Wait a minute. What is that I spy?

My blanket!!! I don't care that it is wet and soggy, it will do.

Easily entertained

Did you ever stop and see how incredibly interesting door stops are? Trust me...I have.

A few scary moments

We had a bit of a scare today during lunch time. Let's begin by saying that I ended up calling 911 for an ambulance. Before you begin worrying about Hannah, she actually slept quietly through the whole ordeal, because it was Jason that I was calling for. While we were eating tuna sandwiches Jason began choking on a piece of the sandwich. He tried to chase it down with some tea, but that only made it worse. Anyway, in quite a panic, I called 911 while he struggled to breathe. The heimlich would have come next I suppose. It was really scary for both of us (probably more for Jason than for me!). Anyway, while I was on the phone with 911 he took a big gasp of air and the piece finally went down (while the rest came up...gross, I know, but it is the dirty truth). So, they wanted to send an ambulance anyway to check on Jason, but he assured me (through gasps of breath) that he was indeed OK. There was many scary moments there, but thankfully Jason is doing fine now.
I would like to think that becuase my tuna sandwiches are SO delicious he just golped it down and it got lodged. Anyway, I pray that never happens again, but thankfully all is well now. So, that was more action today then I care to have again.

Baby doll

Granny let Hannah play with a doll over Christmas and since she does not have one of her own, she did not quite know what to do with it. I think she found it interesting - that is if poking, biting, and licking it shows some level of interest (which I think it might for a baby).

Hmmm, what is this funny looking thing?

What? Is this not how you play with these things?

Not quite a rock star

I failed to mention in the last post that we chose to drive through the night to Birmingham. We did this for Hannah's sake so that she would not have to sit in the car while awake for 11 hours. For the most part, it worked well. The only problem is that Jason and I get quite tired while driving in the middle of the night. So, my brother recommended Rock Star energy drinks to keep us awake. Since I am still nursing Hannah, we decided that I could not consume that much caffeine safely, so Jason bought some for himself to drink. He began drinking one about midnight on our drive. After one he decided that he was still tired and did not feel any effects, so he immediately consumed another one (BIG MISTAKE!). Now, I have to tell you that neither of us has ever had an energy drink, so we are novices at these things. Anyway, I woke up about 2am to find Jason looking like this -

I stayed awake for another 2 hours just laughing at how incredibly funny he was. He was talking faster than I have ever heard him talk, and it was all about random things. He kept repeating "I just feel SO awake!" After he told me that he could probably outrun the cops if they came after him I decided that I better stay awake to keep him under control. At one point we stopped to get gas (remember this is in the middle of the night) and he got out of the car and ran - full speed - into the store. I was sure they were going to think he was strung out on drugs and about to rob them.
I bet if I gave him a costume and a stage, he would have surely tried to look as cool as this guy while singing some 80's metal band song. WOW, I can picture it now!

Anyway, no more Rock Star energy drinks for Jason...unless you just want some good laughs!

Holiday Adventures

We are back from a whirlwind tour of the south and southeast. We began our travels on the 21st when we visited Papaw and Granny in Gainesville. My brother and his family came out from CA to visit while we were there. It is always great to see them and their kids! We had a blast hanging out with everyone and shared many good laughs. At one point all the grandkids were at the house, including Hannah's sweet cousin Ava (It was great to see you Amy!) so that was a lot of fun. My Dad, brother, and I were also able to share a lunch out together. It has been years since the 3 of us did something together (that is before spouces and kids came along). It was really great to have some sweet fellowship together like old times.

Papaw and Kacy hanging out.

Sweet Josiah (he is 2.5 years old).

Happy Halee with a mouth full of food (she is 1.5 years old).

Hannah had a great time trying to keep up with Josiah and Halee. Give just a few months and she will be chasing after them. I can't wait!!

After our time in Gainesville, we drove to Birmingham to see Jason's family. All the cousins were together there as well. They have grown so much in just 2 months since we saw them all last. We spent Christmas there with family and had a blast. Hannah had some semi-professional pictures taken by Jason's cousin (complete with backdrops and lights) and I can't wait to see them and share them with everyone. I will definitely be posting them when I get them. Thanks again Krisitin!!!

Zoolight Safari

Last night we went to the Birmingham Zoo for Zoolight Safari. The zoo was decorated with lights that were beautiful. I think Hannah (and the cousins) enjoyed the lights, but I am sure that will become much more fun in the coming years. So, here were some of the fun pics from last night.

Hats

I know Hannah might look a bit like a boy with hats on, but she is so dang cute we could not resist. Here is our cute little "fella."

Here she is with Pop's Auburn hat.

Our little cutie in Uncle Michael's hat. Is this not an adorable face?!?! I cannot belive how irrestibly cute she is!

Can you see the 2 little teeth in there? They are like little razors...trust me! I can't wait until they are fully grown in and we have those cute teethy pictures.

This is the best I have until then.

Happenings

We are still hanging out with family in Birmingham and have had many laughs and much fun since Christmas. Here are a few highlights:

Hannah received a fun little play tent with tons of interactive toys on it so here she is enjoying this. I am looking forward to many fun times with this over the next few years.

Hanging out with Uncle Michael.

Hannah loves playing with this classic toy...but she does not make music on it, she just loves eating the "stick." In fact, she gets upset when she can't take the "stick" with her because it is attached to the rest of the toy.

I don't know if you can see it or not, but Hannah received her first knot on her head (right above the temple on the hairline). She fell while standing up at a chair...poor thing. It is a pretty good one and she cried for a good while. I know this is inevitable, but it does not make the first one (or any subsequent ones) any easier. Needless to say, she got some extra hugs and kisses tonight from us.

Boys will be boys

It is a dangerous thing to get 3 grown men with their father playing touch football on the concrete street. I am not sure that I can even capture the situation for you except to show pictures. Needless to say...it turned bloody very quickly!
Jason was the first injured player. He jumped up to block a pass thrown by Pop and Pop threw the ball smack in Jason's face. OOPS! So, we had some blood pouring out for awhile from the bridge of Jason's nose.

They should have stopped playing then, but since boys will be boys, they kept going.

Pop was the next to go down...literally! He was running to catch a pass and tripped. He looked like he was sliding into 2nd base when he face planted into the ground. OUCH! Thankfully his hands took the brunt of the fall and not his face, but he was pretty banged up. So, our guys had some war wounds to show for Christmas today. Lesson learned - touch football is for kids...played on the grass...with helmets...and pads!

Baby's first Christmas

Here is our little Christmas baby. Thanks for the Christmas outfit Gramma, it was perfect!
