Pictures from the big day

Here was Hannah and Papaw's cake. The funny story with this was that when I asked the lady to write "Happy Birthday Papaw & Hannah" she looked at me really funny before she went off to write it. Well, when I got it back I realized that she had written "Happy Birthday Papaw Hannah." I guess that does sound a bit funny without the "and."
Our big birthday girl. The bib that she wore was the same exact one I wore on my 1 year birthday. I have pictures of me in it that I will post tomorrow.

The spoon worked a bit better because Hannah really had no interest in getting her fingers gooey with icing.
Notice some blue icing ended up in her hair...lovely!

Molly was pining for a small morsel of cake.
Of course, Hannah obliged and Molly licked her spoon. Trust me, they REALLY love each other!
And, after you give a baby some cake for the first time, they go CRAZY!!! She had a blast ripping up this news paper and rough housing with her Daddy.

Here are Hannah and Papaw on their special birthday!
Hannah's reaction to sugar made her scream quite a bit today (a good scream though) and so here she is with Papaw and Granny letting out her hyper sugar scream! Seriously though, the sugar did crazy things to her today. Usually she takes an hour and a half nap around 2pm (at the latest) but not today! No, this hyped up baby stayed up until 5:15pm when she took a 5 minute nap in the car. She was hyper, tired, and hungry by this point and it was not good.
This is what it looks like when a very tired birthday girl finally crashes from all the sugar and fun. WOW, what a day. Thanks for coming down Papaw and Granny, we really enjoyed spending this day with you!

Our growing girl

We just got back from the doctor and here are the stats on our growing girl.

Weight - 20lbs 5oz (32%)
Height - 30 1/4 in (79%)
Head - 18 3/4 in

She is definitely growing taller and has gained 2 lbs in the last 3 months. He gave her a clean bill of health and after 2 shots we were on our way. She is sleeping away now and hopefully will wake refreshed and ready for cake and play time.
Pictures to come later tonight. Make sure you read the below birthday post if you have not already.

One year ago today...

our sweet Hannah was born at 1:23pm. I remember the day so fondly. The memories that have been formed since that moment last year have been beyond my wildest dreams! I am absolutely head over heels in love with our little girl and I have to pinch myself sometimes to remember that she has really been with us for a whole year. She has brought so much joy and delight to us, it really is unbelievable. She is absolutely the best baby ever! Yes, I know I am biased, but really I could not ask for anything more in such a sweet daughter. She is my little sweet pea and I love her more than I can express here in words.I am so thankful that you all have followed us in this wonderful journey, and I cannot wait to have this next year and so many more with Hannah and Jason.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET HANNAH! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND ARE THANKFUL TO GOD FOR YOU AND EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU! WE LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN EXPRESS!
Today also happens to be my dad's birthday as well. I am well aware that no gift we give him this year will match up to having a granddaughter born on his birthday like last year. But her cuteness will have to suffice. I am so glad that Hannah shares her special day with my dad, her Papaw. SO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPAW, WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!! This picture of Hannah and her Papaw was taken about 10 minutes after she was born and happens to be my favorite picture from that day. What fun memories!I will post more pictures and details of our day later tonight. We will be spending the day with Papaw and Granny celebrating 2 very special birthdays! There will definitely be cake involved which I am sure Hannah is going to LOVE! I will also have checkup information from our doctor visit to share too. So, check back for those posts later tonight.

Children's museum

Kelly, Hannah I went to a museum here in town this past Sat. that has a great 2 story children's area. Both Kelly and I have taken our students here for field trips each year, so I am so excited that now Hannah and I get to enjoy it.

Hannah loved this little tunnel and we eventually had to fish her out of there or else she might have just stayed there all day.

I will be so sad when this is a real school bus taking my baby to school, but for now we can just play in the pretend bus.
In the water room they have a bubble wall where you can blow huge bubbles. They also have a bubble contraption where you can stand inside a bubble and pull the bubble up and over your body. We tried to get Hannah in it but she was much more interested in putting her hands in the soapy water. Kelly was able to get a bubble from under her feet almost up to her head!
We played on the water table and had rubber duckie races. Hannah loved trying to catch the ducks as they floated past her.
Here are Kelly and Hannah playing music on the giant piano. Hannah did not weigh quite enough to make the keys play music, so we had to help out a bit.
Learning to milk a cow...you gotta learn these things early in life.
Her first school lesson.
Trying to show Hannah how to use a wash board made me VERY thankful for my washer and dryer!

Churn that butter little baby!

Anyway, we had a great time. Thanks for going with us Kelly, it was so fun! And, if you ever come and visit us we can always go back to this museum. With my membership I can take 6 visitors with me for free each and every time I go! How great of a deal is that!

Mother's Day top 10 list

You know your a mom when...

10. You can't find your cordless phone, so you ask a friend to call you, and you run around the house madly, following the sound until you locate the phone downstairs in the laundry basket.

9. Your idea of a good day is making it through without a child leaking bodily fluids on you.

8. Your favorite television show is a cartoon.

7. You're willing to kiss your child's boo-boo, regardless of what body part it happens to be on.

6. You're so desperate for adult conversation that you spillyour guts to the telemarketer that calls and HE hangs up on YOU!

5. Spit is your number one cleaning agent.

4. You hide in the bathroom to be alone.

3. Your kid throws up and you catch it.

2. You have time to shave only one leg at a time.

1. You're up each night until 11 PM vacuuming, dusting, wiping, washing, drying, loading, unloading, shopping, cooking, driving, flushing, ironing, sweeping, picking up, changingsheets, changing diapers, bathing, helping with homework, paying bills, budgeting, clipping coupons, folding clothes, putting to bed, dragging out of bed, brushing, chasing, buckling, feeding (them, NOT you), PLUS swinging, playing baseball, bike riding, pushing trucks, cuddling dolls, rollerblading, basketball, football, catch, bubbles, sprinklers, slides, nature walks, coloring, crafts, jumpingrope, PLUS raking, trimming, planting, edging, mowing, gardening, painting, and walking the dog. You get up at5:30 AM and you have no time to eat, sleep, drink or go to the bathroom, and yet ... you still managed to gain 10 pounds.

I LOVE being a mother! It is absolutely the best job around! Happy Mother's day to you all.
Love,
Jennifer, Jason, Hannah, and Molly

Our little tiger

It's official, we have a little tiger! Seriously though, is this not the cutest little Auburn outfit that you have ever seen?! Aunt Amy made this for Hannah and we think it is adorable!
After being a teacher, I am not a big fan of girls wearing pants with words written across their backsides (that is a whole different story though)...but how cute are these shorts? All rules out the window with these cute things.

Hannah was quite the model yesterday as she tried on the outfits that Aunt Laura made her for her birthday. She looked so cute as she showed them both off. Thanks Aunt Laura!!!
There's that toothy smile again...I love it!

We just had to know...

...where her allegiance lies. Since we have ties to both universities, we need to know at a young age which one she will support. These are important questions, you know.

Uh Oh...this is not what we had in mind!
That's our girl!
The clear winner! War eagle baby, War eagle!

More pizza please!!!

We had dinner with some great friends the other night and had an overall wonderful time. We dined on pizza and salad, but we had no idea that Hannah was the one who enjoyed dinner the most. She had actually already eaten her own dinner, but when she tasted pizza for the first time she went CRAZY!!! She was a little monster going between Jason and I to get bites of our pizza. At one point Jason was trying to eat a piece and she just grabbed another piece off of his plate and shoved it in her mouth. She actually did really well at biting off pieces too. I think we found her new favorite food. As you can see in this picture, she has pizza and grease all over her face and onesie...you gotta love it!

Look who's walking

Hannah decided to pick up walking again today, and hopefully this round will result in trading crawling for walking permanently. This is getting exciting!!!

She also loves to "talk" on the phone. She likes to put it up to her ear and then put it up to ours and hear us talk on the phone. So, you will also see her "talking" on the phone in the video below. Maybe one of these days she can actually talk to friends and family on the phone.

Hannah's hair is not quite long enough to put up in a clip yet (hense the little wisps of bangs). She was not thrilled when I tried to put one in the other day either.

If she could talk she might be saying "you didn't really put that in my hair did you?"

She promptly grabbed the other comb and managed to mess up her hair. She is a girl that does not like bows or clips in her hair...she must be my child!

Friday, May 2, 2008

I can't believe that in less than 2 weeks our sweet girl will be 1 year old! She is such a delightful baby and I enjoy each day with her more and more. I took this picture this morning right after she woke up (hense the messed up hair). She looks so old to me now and is definitely taking on her own little personality. Man, I love this baby!!!!
