Cox what?!?!

So, we got home yesterday afternoon and went straight to the doctor here only to find out that Hannah has coxsackie virus and an ear infection. Wonderful, huh? By the way, the doc said that coxsackie is a farely common virus in kids, and is similar to the flu in some ways. He actually did a strep and flu test on her since she was showing some of those symptoms (they were both negative). She has ulcers in the back of her mouth so she is not eating much right now. They said those are quite painful and take several days to heal. She spiked a temp in CA of 102.7 and it bounced up and down so the doc wanted us to come and see him. That is all on top of cutting 4 teeth! Poor little baby!
Anyway, I have some pictures of our time in CA, so I thought I would share them. Since Hannah is sleeping now I finally have time. By the way, you can always tell when she is sick because she sleeps alot. She went to bed at 7pm last night and did not stir until about 8am this morning (and that was because I finally went and got her).
Hanging out in downtown San Francisco by the bay...it was a gorgeous day too!



Hannah had never been able to pet a cat before, so she enjoyed getting to know Gramma and Grandpa's cat, Chanel.

Hannah got some new clothes over the weekend, including this cute little dress. So, here she was looking out the back door.
I don't know why, but I think this is the cutest little picture of her. She looks so big and old here.

Teething stinks...

Well, while here in CA, I noticed that not only was Hannah cutting her top two teeth, but also the top 2 incisors (is that what they are called?). She officially has 3 top teeth now that are through the gums and we are waiting on the fourth. This will make for a total of 6 teeth!!! Crazy! Anyway, she has been miserable to say the least. I am also not quite sure why, but these 4 teeth have caused MAJOR diaper rash and last night she had enough! Why does teething cause diaper rash anyway...I have never figured this out? I feel so bad for her knowing that she is in pain and there is not much I can do about it. So, please pray for our "little chomper" in these coming days, especially as we fly home tomorrow.

Hannah and I are in CA this weekend visiting Gramma and Grandpa. It has been beautiful out here and we are enjoying our time with grandparents. I will post pictures of our time here when we return next week, but until then here are some pictures from last week of Hannah in her new sun hat.

Joy

One of the things that I love about Hannah crawling and pulling up is when she crawls up to me and pulls up on my legs. I love looking down and seeing her sweet face as she looks up at me. It brings me utter joy and delight to see this face.

This is what happens when Jason and Hannah play dress up. There are no bows, pink frills, or lace, just Auburn shirts and jeans.
Clearly she did not seem to mind all that much!

We're back!

We spent the weekend at Papaw and Granny's house and had a great time. Well, despite the fact that Hannah is cutting her 2 top teeth and was VERY fussy, it was still nice to get to see everyone. She was able to play in the jump house but she was unsure about what to do with it...give her a few years and I am sure she will love it!
She sat at this little table like such a big girl...it was absoutely adorable! Now, she just needs 3 friends to join her for a little party. Thanks for the great weekend Papaw and Granny, we really enjoyed it!
This weekend kicked off a grandparent marathon for us. On Thursday, Hannah and I are headed to CA to see Gramma and Grandpa, and the following weekend Mimi is coming out to visit. So, we will be able to see all the grandparents (minus Pop, but thankfully we saw him last month) in 3 weekends and it will be GREAT!!!

These pictures were actually taken last weekend when we went on a walk. I thought I would also put up some pictures from about 4 months ago so you could see how much our baby has grown! It is amazing to me when I see how big she has gotten and much she has developed over 4 short months.

WOW!

Um, WOW!

Well, this has been quite a day! First of all, congrats to my hubby. He found out today that he got a tenure track position, so we will be here for the long haul. This is VERY exciting news! Secondly, Hannah decided that in order to celebrate this news, she would stand up all by herself today. She got to where she was standing for a good 8-10 seconds each time. WOW! She did actually take one step toward me while she was not holding on to anything, but that was as far as she got toward actual walking. Jason and I made a bet several weeks ago as to when we thought Hannah would begin walking. First, let me tell you that we decided to define walking as taking 2 or more steps unassisted. My guess was that she would not walk until after spring break, but Jason thought that she would walk before spring break. Well, spring break officially begins next Friday, so we will see. Since neither of us said that she would walk over the actual spring break, I am assuming that is when it will happen. Anyway, this has been a wonderfully joyous day, so thank you for celebrating with us!

I'd say Hannah has her appetite back! These are before and after pictures from lunch yesterday...she's back to being an eating machine. Whether or not this causes her to gain much weight is yet to be determined.

A full tummy makes for one happy girl!!!

Hannah has begun imitating certain things that we do, and it has been a fun milestone. She closely watches our actions then will try them herself. It is so fun to see her trying to figure these things out.

My dad found these old pictures of my brother and I the other day. These were taken when I was about Hannah's age (maybe a few weeks older). But, these are really the first pictures that I have seen where she looks a bit like me. I know she looks A LOT like Jason, but there might be some small similarities with these pictures.

Cookie Monster

I have not given Hannah one of these cookies in awhile. To be honest, I kind of forgot about them in the pantry. They are the Gerber teether cookies. Anyway, she loves them and she was delighted when I gave her one the other day. They are quite messy, but worth it.

I love how she studies the cookie...I just wonder what she is thinking at times like these?
