Hairdo's and Hair don'ts

Hannah looked quite cute this morning with her overalls and hair done. She still can't fill out her overalls but they are so dang cute on her, I can't resist putting them on her. I think she looks so different with her hair up. I actually think she looks less like Jason...but maybe it is just me.

We tried to keep her occupied with whole milk today because today was the last day of nursing for her. So she is completely weaned now. She had a difficult night tonight, but I am hoping this gets better with each and every day. She actually likes whole milk quite well, so that is a blessing.
What the heck...have a cherry coke with your milk if it makes you happy!
Just guzzle it down!
I wanted to show you what her hair looks like when you take the bows out. It is a definate hair fiasco! It sticks straight up like Kramer or Jimmy Neutron.

Or it just sticks out EVERYWHERE! We like to call this the "rock star" look with the tussled hair and serious face...what a cutie!

Fun table

I decided that I wanted Hannah to have a table and chairs in the loft. So, we got this idea from Aunt Amy. She bought Bryce some end tables with some chairs so we decided to do a similar thing. Thanks for the idea Amy!
Hannah LOVES her new table and chairs and she has already gotten much use out of the chairs. She gets up and down, up and down, up and down....you get the picture. I look forward to one day doing crafts and projects on these fun little tables.

These chairs are adorable! Jason picked out the green color and they bring some fun color into the room.

Not much new news...

Not much new to report around here. We took a little trip yesterday to IKEA (which is about an hour away) to buy some chairs for Hannah and to look around. It was a nice outing. Hannah is doing fabulous and is doing new things each and every day. She loves to imitate everything we do including:
- saying "AAAHHH" after you take a huge swig of a drink on a hot day
- patting our backs as you hold her and pat hers
- trying to brush her own hair after the bath. This is the only way I can pacify her long enough for me to put her hair up
- clapping
- saying sounds and words that we say
- making a silly scrunchie face

This really has been a great few weeks for us and I am sure it will continue for the rest of the summer. Jason and Hannah will have their weekly date today which means that this Mommy will get some time off...YAH!
I don't have any pictures to share today, so I will make sure to take some later and post them.

Little Skyler

So, here is the newest member of the Clark family, little Skyler Reese. She is adorable and I can't wait to meet her soon!!!

Joey and Kacy...she is beautiful! What a blessing for your family!

Another little niece...

So, my brother and sister-in-law just had the baby....IT'S A GIRL!!!!

Skyler Reese was born weighing 6lbs. 9oz and was 19.5in long. Mother and baby were both doing great. I will hopefully have pictures later tonight. Josiah and Halee were on their way over to meet their little sister. I wish I was there to celebrate too! I love you Joey and Kacy...CONGRATS on your new baby girl. I can't wait to meet her!!!

New 'do and other news

I am having a ton of fun playing with Hannah's hair now that it is long enough to actually do something with. I think this might be one of my new favorite 'dos. But, I also played around and put the sides up too. Hannah has figured out that she does not like to have her hair put up much...so I have had to get creative. I feel like I am in the WWF ring with her when I wrangle her to put her hair up. I guess in a few years when she becomes interested in how her hair looks she might just stand still for a moment while I fix it. We'll see.

In other news, I am trying to capture a video of some of Hannah's new tricks but she is not being overly cooperative. She is walking backwards all the time now and she thinks it is hilarious. She is also standing on her tippie toes to reach things. Both of these activities stop abruptly though when I pull the camera out. But, I am hoping to get a video soon.

In even more important news...my brother and sister in law will be welcoming their new baby today! I am SO excited! No one knows the sex of the baby or the name yet, so that makes the anticipation even that much more. Even Joey and Kacy chose to be surprised for this baby, so they will be finding out if they will be adding a little boy or girl to their bunch in a few hours.

The above picture was their last family picture with 4 taken last night. And below are Josiah and Halee who are going to be great with the baby, I just know it! Arn't they adorable?!

Mother and daughter time! Kacy - you look AWESOME by the way! I can't wait to hear about baby Clark today. I will post pictures when I get them. Stay tuned.

House update

This past week, we overhauled our office. We got rid of the sliding glass doors and replaced them with french doors. We could not open the sliding glass doors, so we had never actually been out on the deck. We had Home Depot install them and they did a great job. Here was the sliding door before.

And the finished product. They look great compared to what was there before, and we are really enjoying them. We ordered some faux wood blinds to go on them and hopefully they will be here in the next week or so.
We also got a new desk and bookshelves so we put those together too. The room finally looks finished now and it actually feels like we have some office space. We also have plenty of room now for guests to stay in here, so please come on over and visit. We would love to have you!

We replaced the ceiling fan in our bedroom to this one which matches the rest of the fans in the house. We still have yet to paint our bedroom even though the paint is sitting in the garage. That will come later this summer...or at least that is the plan.

We installed this light above the fireplace that used to be a crusty white fixture. Jason picked this light out himself so he was especially proud of it.

We ripped out the vent hood in the kitchen and replaced it with a nice new white one that matches the stove. You can see the wallpaper below the old hood...now I know why the painted the kitchen blue. I guess any color was better than a whole kitchen with that wallpaper. We have yet to paint the kitchen either...but the paint is waiting in the garage. Sounds like the story of my life right now.

We ripped out both doors and frames from Hannah's room and closet and replaced both of those too. They were MUCH more work than either of us anticipated, but we have learned a lot from doing them. We still have to put trim on both of them and paint them (sound familiar?) but that will happen this week.

Daddy daughter day

When Jason found out we were having a girl he told me that he wanted to have date days with her when she got old enough. Well, yesterday he decided that they would have their first date day together. He took her to the local kids museum and they had a great time together. It was nice to have some time here to myself, but the thought of Hannah and Jason having some Daddy daughter time together was even better. So, I think you will find the 2 of them out doing something fun most Sat. mornings from now on. I think it is great and I know Hannah will benefit from the time with her daddy! These were pictures that I took when they got back from their outing.

Girly girl

I did 2 things this morning that I have been waiting weeks (or maybe months) to do. First, I put Hannah in an adorable little dress that she has had for probably 6 months and never worn yet. She struggled to wear little dresses while she crawled since they got caught on her knees. But now that she is walking everywhere I was able to finally have her wear it. Second, I put her hair in a pigtail on the side. I have bows, but she rips them out quicker than I can put them in, so those don't work anymore. So, yesterday I bought some hair ties and put one in this morning. I have to say it was really cute with her little dress. I know I am biased, but man this kid is so CUTE! It definitely helps her cuteness factor that she has such a fun and joyful disposition too.

Visit to Preschool

I went to my school (the one I taught at) a few weeks ago to see Kelly and Crystal and I decided to let Hannah play in the Pre-K classroom. She loved it! This picture does not do it justice, but when she first walked through the door her eyes lit up and she let out a little gasp. It was SO cute! So, I let her play around for awhile in there and she found all sorts of things to get into.

These little plastic people were her favorite. She kept biting on their heads.The reading loft was especially fun for her. She loved climbing the stairs into it and then looking down at the rest of the room.

While it was cute to see her playing in there I have decided that she cannot begin school until she is 10! That will be such a sad day...OK, on to another subject before I make myself cry.
