Bluebonnets take 2

We did our 2nd annual bluebonnet pictures last week with Caleb and Hannah. Here were last year's pictures. The kids did much better than last year, thanks in part to a softball and 2 wiffle balls that Kelly brought. You can never forget that a couple of colorful balls make life all better for toddlers!
Caleb Joe is growing like a weed and is cute as ever!
Get a load of these eyeleashes!

WOW, look at the difference a year makes.

Pink Potty

Let me first start off by saying that we are NOT potty training at this time! However, with that being said, Hannah has showed some interest in the potty lately so I played off this interest when I bought her her first pink potty. In short, she loves it!
I think most of her interest comes from the fact that having a toddler running around means NO privacy for me, so she has become familiar with seeing people sitting on the potty.
While "not potty training" the first day, I think she (on her own initiative) sat on the potty no less than 6 times. Did she do anything you may ask? No. She thinks that sitting on the potty is just that...SITTING on the potty. Thus, this is why we are not potty training now. For other moms out there though (Laura, Amy, Crystal) this potty is great! It is a 3-in-1 potty that is a sit down potty, a step stool, and you can put in on the big potty seat too. It is great!
Doesn't she just look so proud of her little potty seat?!?!

I think she finally got shy with me taking so many pictures of her on the potty. I don't blame her, I would too, but it still didn't stop me.
She LOVES the step stool feature of the seat and takes it over to the sink all the time.
Can you tell that she was enjoying looking at herself?! I love the picture below of her! I love her cute little button nose and her beautiful hair. Man, this kid is awesome!
I guess she has not really had extended time in the past with a mirror. She had a great time looking at herself from all angles, turning her head every which way, and talking to herself. It was all a bit comical.
This is one happy (un-potty trained) little girl!

I love each and every one of these unique "Hannah" faces! This kid makes me smile too!

Disclaimer - Please disregard the snotty nose in these pictures. Evidently the zoom didn't pick it up, so I didn't notice until I stopped taking photos...and uploaded them on the computer for a closer look...YIKES!This was Hannah on her way to Mother's Day Out last week. I thought she looked like a little school girl by the time I got her dressed! What a cutie! And her hair! Well, it is getting super long and thick and it is SO much fun to play with. Thankfully she is used to me playing with her hair, so she will sit still (with a toy or book in hand) for the time it takes me to do her hair. This particular updo took me about 10 minutes!!! Let's hope that it gets easier with time. But, I thought it looked adorable on her.

Beautiful in blue

There is something about the color blue that looks absolutely beautiful on Hannah...in my humble, unbiased opinion.

Easter Weekend Fun

For Easter Weekend we headed up to Papaw and Granny's house and Hannah could not have been more excited. She kept talking about the swing and Papaw's airplane. Lucky for her, she had plenty of time in the swing and got to ride on the airplane too!

On Friday, we packed up the plane and flew to see my Mamaw and Papaw. It was only about a 30 monute flight, but Hannah loved it. This little one is obsessed with planes, so this was a dream come true for her.

You may have read about the North Texas wildfires lately. Well, we flew over several of them and could see about 8 different fires burning at one point.

We got to see Mamaw and Papaw's new house and their lake front property!!! It was beautiful and Hannah really enjoyed it.
We went to the end of their pier and fed the ducks which was a first for Hannah.
She liked watching them and throwing (or a sad attempt at it) bread to them.
She had a great time leading Papaw around to where she wanted to go. Thanks for being good sports Mamaw and Papaw when Hannah was dragging you guys around!!
Right before we were going to leave Mamaw posed in front of the airplane. It was great to see Mamaw and Papaw (and Aunt Ann for a few minutes) and Hannah really enjoyed the whole day!

Thanks for the great weekend Papaw and Granny, we all really enjoyed it!

I am always reminded on Easter how our entire base of faith rests on the fact that Jesus was resurrected from the grave. So, I am even more thankful for that fact and for the hope that we now stand on because of Jesus' death and resurrection. HE IS RISEN!
In a sad attempt at blogging today I am going to tell you to go look at Kelly's blog for a recap of out day yesterday. Check out http://aboutfusion.blogspot.com/
Otherwise I plan on posting about our past 2 weekends tonight.

Easter Egg Fun

Hannah enjoyed her first Easter Egg Hunt on Tuesday at Mother's Day Out. She was ready too! We actually bought the eggs on Sunday night, and she played in the backyard with them on Monday. So, by the time Tuesday morning rolled around she was ready to hunt eggs. She was the first to the door when the teachers said "line up kids!"

This is her little squanched up face as she searched the yard for more eggs. She was good at spotting them too, and then she would run off and snatch them up. The kids in her class (16-24 month olds) were either great or terrible at Easter egg hunts. Some were just like Hannah and were running around getting the eggs, and others were totally clueless and would not pick up an egg even after coaching by parents and the teachers. It was all a farely comical sight. Thankfully for the clueless kids the teachers divided up the bounty during nap time so that all the kids got an equal share of the eggs.
Even after all the eggs were found, Hannah would not put her basket down and insisted on going down the slide with her basket in hand. I asked her several times to let me hold the basket but she was not about to give up her basket full of goodies. Here are 2 rings that were in Hannah's basket of eggs. She was pretty clueless as to rings and jewelry, but she enjoyed putting them on for a few minutes.

Here's a cute little video that shows Hannah with her basket....and her determination to get some eggs that another little girl dropped on the ground. :/
