Zoolight Safari
Last night we went to the Birmingham Zoo for Zoolight Safari. The zoo was decorated with lights that were beautiful. I think Hannah (and the cousins) enjoyed the lights, but I am sure that will become much more fun in the coming years. So, here were some of the fun pics from last night.

Happenings
We are still hanging out with family in Birmingham and have had many laughs and much fun since Christmas. Here are a few highlights:
Hannah received a fun little play tent with tons of interactive toys on it so here she is enjoying this. I am looking forward to many fun times with this over the next few years.
Hanging out with Uncle Michael.

Hannah loves playing with this classic toy...but she does not make music on it, she just loves eating the "stick." In fact, she gets upset when she can't take the "stick" with her because it is attached to the rest of the toy.

I don't know if you can see it or not, but Hannah received her first knot on her head (right above the temple on the hairline). She fell while standing up at a chair...poor thing. It is a pretty good one and she cried for a good while. I know this is inevitable, but it does not make the first one (or any subsequent ones) any easier. Needless to say, she got some extra hugs and kisses tonight from us.

Boys will be boys
It is a dangerous thing to get 3 grown men with their father playing touch football on the concrete street. I am not sure that I can even capture the situation for you except to show pictures. Needless to say...it turned bloody very quickly!
Jason was the first injured player. He jumped up to block a pass thrown by Pop and Pop threw the ball smack in Jason's face. OOPS! So, we had some blood pouring out for awhile from the bridge of Jason's nose.

They should have stopped playing then, but since boys will be boys, they kept going.
Pop was the next to go down...literally! He was running to catch a pass and tripped. He looked like he was sliding into 2nd base when he face planted into the ground. OUCH! Thankfully his hands took the brunt of the fall and not his face, but he was pretty banged up. So, our guys had some war wounds to show for Christmas today. Lesson learned - touch football is for kids...played on the grass...with helmets...and pads!

This is one determined little baby...
We are off to see family for Christmas. We are currently at Papaw's house in TX until tonight when we will leave for B'ham. We are having a great time with family here and are thoroughly enjoying all the kids around! I just wonder what life was like when we all did not have kids since it is so fun now. Hannah is desperatly trying to keep up with her cousins as they run around. Soon enough she will be joining them. She now has 2 little teeth peeking out and is pulling up to standing ALL over the place. So, this should be a great first Christmas for our sweet little girl.
I took this video awhile ago, but I still get a kick out of it. She definitely is a motivated and determined little baby.
FYI, we have now moved the basket of toys into our bedroom far away from the baby, since they are a temptation to great for her to resist.

What is wrong with this picture?
I love the action shot of Molly!
As my child is on the floor occupying herself nicely with a book, the four legged baby is in my lap begging to be fed (yes, this is what she does when she is hungry). Don't worry that Hannah is reading a book upside down, at least she is reading, right?!?! I guess that will be next week's lesson.

Hannah crawled into my closet this morning and found the Christmas present stash. I guess she did not understand (or she didn't believe me) when I told her that none of them were for her. She went right for Mimi's gift since it was on top.

HHMMM, what is this fun looking box?

Smart girl, she goes right for the seam.

I doubt wrapping paper tastes good, but you know she had to try.

She was so close to the prize, but thankfully Mimi's gift was saved by me. Don't worry Mimi, we will rewrap it for you. You will never know that it had baby slobber all over it.

Musician in the making
All I want for Christmas...
...are my two front teeth! Yes, we now have teeth, or at least a tooth!!!
This morning, while Hannah was eating, we noticed two little white spots on her bottom gums. Upon further inspection, we noticed that one has already broken through and the other is just under the surface. Since hindsight is 20/20 I really think her punyness last week was due to the teeth finally breaking through. She was so clingy, fussy, restless, etc. The only other difference that I have noticed the last few days in her is that she sucks her thumb a lot more. She used to only suck it when she slept or was getting tired, but the last few days she has been sucking it ALL the time. I guess it is a built in teether, and since she wont take a pacifier anymore it works for her.
Since Hannah will barely let me look at her teeth/gums there is really no way for me to snap a picture of them. But, eventually her gummy smile will be replaced with pearly whites, so we will get a picture of them soon enough.
So, our little one might just get her two front teeth for Christmas!

A girl and her daddy
I took some cute pictures of Hannah and her daddy the other day. They are like two peas in a pod.

She was asleep on his shoulder while they were sharing some ever important cuddle time.

OOPS, the flash on the camera woke her up, but it made for a mighty fine picture. At least she wakes up happy.

Geez...not only do they look alike, but they make the same silly faces! How incredibly cute are they together?!?!

Busy, Busy
Well, I know I said to watch for new videos two nights ago...Sorry! We had a busy day yesterday visiting great grandparents in Fort Worth (Hannah is blessed to have 4 great grandparents to play with - in fact, she still has a great, great grandmother alive! Can you believe that?!). Anyway, I have lots of videos, and I plan to get at least one up each day. Today's video was actually taken this morning, but it might be the best of all so I had to show it first. I promise to put more up later. By the way, Hannah turned 7 months old yesterday! Crazy! She celebrated by eating some sugar free jello that Grandmother and Joe gave her. She LOVED it and cried when I took it away. She was able to eat it by herself which was fun, but she also managed to get it EVERYWHERE! Here are some pictures from our time visiting great grandparents.

Fun with friends
Crystal (whom I have taught with for the past 4 years) and Kelly (who teaches 3rd grade at the school) came over the other night for a baby get together. Since we went from being the 3 musketeers to 5, we have to plan a bit more for our get togethers. Little CJ (Caleb Joseph) is 8 weeks old and adorable might I add! He was quite unimpressed by all the girls, but give him time and he will figure it out. Kelly gave both babies Christmas gifts, so Hannah got to open her first wrapped Christmas gift (Thanks Kelly)! YAH! I guess it was more exciting for me since I was the one who actually opened it.
Anyway, it will be fun to have CJ and Hannah so close in age as they get older.
