I finally got her to smile for some pictures

Hannah's great grandmother (Mamaw) made this blanket for her and gave it to her yesterday. It is adorable so I decided to take some pictures with it today. As you can tell, Hannah seemed to enjoy it.
Thanks for the blanket Mamaw!!! We enjoyed seeing you guys yesterday.

Get a load of these BIG, beautiful eyes! I know I am biased, but I cannot get over how dang cute our baby is! All of these different expressions crack me up. I don't know how to consistantly get her to smile in photos, so these first 2 pictures are a treat.

Well, our little crawler is getting more and more mobile by the day. She is spinning and inching ever faster. We had to lower her crib to the lowest setting since her little head was poking out over the top when she was up on all fours. She is now also eating homemade baby food, which was surprisingly easy to make and incredibly cheap as well. I made close to 200 oz. of baby food which will probably last us a month or more for about $8 total. And, if you are familiar with baby food, it is usually about $0.50 per 1-2oz jar. So, in the end, it was a steal financially and she is now eating fresh food. YAY! We are still working toward table food since she has not fully gotten the chewing motion down yet. Maybe she will be able to eat a bit of the Christmas meal next month.

Hannah enjoyed seeing her Auntie Alair (my best friend since grade school) while we were in San Diego and we loved the time with her as well! So, here they are at breakfast one morning.
Thanks for hanging out with us Alair...we love you and miss you already!!!

For your viewing pleasure

As promised, here is a video of Hannah's crawling motions. She is really getting the hang of moving forward, so we are anticipating her actually crawling by Christmas...so, we shall see. Fun, Fun!

Jumperoo

We were able to but Hannah a Jumperoo this weekend and she loves it. She has spent more time spinning around than acutally jumping, but it works anyway. If you are noticing that the doorway seems narrow, it is. I noticed after I bought it that the 3 doorways that I would have thought about putting it on are to close to the ceiling to hang the Jumperoo. So, I had to hang it on my closet door, which is not a full size doorway...oh well, I don't think Hannah knows the difference. Also, this is the first time Hannah has put together sounds like nana, baba, dada. So you will hear her beginning to babble as well. At least we can live up to our blog name now.

Daddy time

I caught Hannah and Jason having a fun time on the changing table the other day. We learned "Kachow" in CA from the movie Cars and Hannah loves hearing it. It makes her giggle so hard when we say it to her. Sorry the video is so dark, but enjoy anyway!

Okay, Okay...

I am sorry for not posting as often lately. We are back from a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I will be back to posting more often now. I have some fun videos that I will try and get up later today, but until then here are some more pictures.

P.S. Hannah is "army" crawling now and is SO close to actually crawling!!! I will definitely have videos of that when it actually happens.

We're back

We arrived back from CA last night about midnight, so we are glad to be back in our own beds to rest. We had a great time there and enjoyed all the time with family. Hannah was a bit more interactive this time with family, so that was fun as well. She was a great sleeper and and OK traveler (she fussed some on the plane...but what do you expect?), so we have nothing to complain about there. Hannah had an adventurous food weekend as well. She ate her first bagel (and second, third, and fourth), some real sweet potatoes, teether crackers, and apple and banana pieces. We have one of the mesh bag food holders, so we were able to put some food in there to feed her. She did choke on a small piece of cracker and a bagel, so that always makes this food adventure a little more interesting. We are just having to keep a very close eye on her when she eats table food. I am assuming this will get easier after we do it for awhile. By the way, she LOVES bagels, and cries when you take it away from her. Oh, let the fun begin!
Here are some pictures from our weekend. I will post more tonight, so check back later.

Sorry for the delay

We are in San Diego and are having a great time. Hannah did well on the flight over and it defintiely helped to have understanding people sitting by us. She is exhausted by the end of every day, but she is enjoying all the activity and family.

Doctor update

So, we had Hannah's 6 month appointment this morning and here are her stats:

Weight - 17 lbs 1 oz (63%)
Height - 27 in (84%)
Head - 17.5 in (90%)

The doctor said she is doing great and he gave us the green light for all baby foods, soft table foods, and hard teether like crackers. So, hopefully this will make restaurant visits a bit more tolerable since we can begin giving her some small bits of food to eat. He kept mentioning french fries since they are really easy for babies to hold and to gum...so, I guess we can celebrate her 6 month old birthday with McDonalds...or better yet, Wendy's. She might deserve some fries after her shots today, I think they were more painful than they have been in the past - poor kid!
Well, we are off to San Diego tomorrow for our first family trip on the airplane. Thankfully I will not have to fly with Hannah by myself this time. Jason has a conference that he is attending, and I will be visiting my family and friends. So, I cannot wait to introduce Hannah to the beautiful beach (yes, I am biased, but CA has the MOST beautiful beaches in America!!!) and to other friends and family there. So, I will try and post updates while we are there but I might not get any pics up until we return on Tues.

Hannah enjoys playing on the floor with her bucket of toys now. As you can tell, her bald spot is filling in some.

She fell asleep on her Daddy's shoulder the other night...it was adorable!!!

Happy Half Birthday!!!

Hannah is officially 6 months old today! I cannot belive that it has been that long since she was born. It has been a challenging but definitely fun 6 months. I spent some time this morning looking back through her pictures since her birth, and it is truly amazing how much she has grown and changed over this time. She is such a joy to have as a part of our family. I cannot imagine our lives without her at this point. We have truly been blessed with a wonderful baby!
We have a doctors appt tomorrow so I will post her stats then. Until then, here are some pictures from lunch the other day. Needless to say, Hannah had a blast at lunch...I, however, did not enjoy it quite as much. After I cleaned my face and glasses from the caked on carrots and sweet potatoes, I then had the task of cleaning the baby off. It is amazing how much food can land in all the baby crevices ALL over her body! YUCK!

What a glorious day!!!

Hannah got to wear her overalls yesterday! I have been waiting for this day for a LONG time. My dad took me shopping when I was about 7 months pregnant and he bought Hannah 2 pairs of overalls in different sizes (she she always has a pair that fits...Yay!). They are still HUGE on her, but since they are 6/9 months, I figured we would try them out. Anyway, they were adorable and did I say they were HUGE on her??!! So, here are some pictures of her in her cute overalls...I LOVE IT!

We took our first trip to the park with Hannah this past week, and it was really fun. Actually, it was probably more fun for us, but Hannah seemed to enjoy it also. Jason even got in on the fun and took a ride on a little zip line. I am hoping to make this a weekly outing for us and as Hannah gets more mobile hopefully she can participate even more. Enjoy the video.

Open mouth, insert foot

For some reason, 'sticking you foot in your mouth' has a very different meaning for an infant then for an adult. It is not so fun or utterly adorable when I 'stick my foot in my mouth' as when Hannah does. Anyway, she is getting increasingly flexible and has found that her big toe is quite nice to chew on. So, take note of the technique below, but whatever you do...don't try this at home! No one wants you to 'stick you foot in your mouth' - figuratively or literally.

Find your foot

Bring it to your mouth

Our little girl is growing up

Last night the 3 of us went to the grocery store and we had a first with Hannah. We sat her in the shopping cart like a big girl. She did great sitting up and loved just sitting there watching everybody/everything in the store. As we stood in line to check out, both Jason and I just looked at her and couldn't belive how fast she is growing up. I am continually amazed at how quickly their little bodies grow and develop!

Check out my cool western shirt

Erin bought this shirt for Hannah before she was born and I have waited a long time to finally have it fit her. So...here it is! Is that not adorable??!!
Her pants here are HUGE on her. They are 9 month pants and swallow her at this point (these are your Levi's Levesque!) but they are so cute too.
Anyway, we are having a good time putting Hannah in some new things that we have - even though most of it is way to big on her.

Crawling motions

I finally captured some short video of Hannah with some pre-crawling motions. As I watch this video I am amazed at how quickly babies develop after birth. It really is crazy to think that only 6 short months ago she was born and look at her now. Isn't God's creation awe inspiring?

Walking baby

Every morning I take Hannah and Molly for a walk around the apartment complex. Jason likes to carry Hannah for these walks on the weekends, so we decided to try and put Hannah on his back today. We always put her on the front in her carrier, which she loves, but she seemed to enjoy this as well. She is wearing her new footed pajamas (Thanks Papaw)

Energizer Bunny

I don't know who put Energizer batteries in this baby, but she is rivaling the bunny at this point...going, and going, and going (and I'm not referring to diapers). She has now turned her busyness into locomotion, which has been quite fun. I guess I need to start baby proofing so she cannot get into anything. On a side note - I am not quite sure why I keep putting blankets on the floor, it's not like she actually stays on them. I guess it makes me feel a bit better that at least she starts on the blankets. I guess I will be vacuuming every day now.

Ready for winter

We found this hat for Hannah (after much searching) and so I finally put it on her when we took our morning walk today. It finally feels like winter is coming here so I am excited about all of Hannah's warmer outfits. Please just look past the drool in these pictures...there is just no way around it. Such is life right now.

Fun Hannah facts for today:
1. She tried sweet potatoes this week...she LOVED them! So, she now has eaten cereal, bananas, applesauce, and sweet potatoes.
2. I found Hannah this morning on all fours in her crib! WOW! She is starting to get her knees up under her and show some movements toward crawling. I will post a video of this when I can capture it.
3. She is beginning to figure out that she can roll (quite quickly) to an object that she wants. This makes for a fun adventure when she rolls across the room.
4. You would not have guessed this by her birth weight, but she still fits in all of her 3 month onesies. She is built like her daddy - tall and thin.
