Cutie!

This was a picture that my dad took during our visit this weekend. I love this picture of Hannah; it really shows her little personality.

SURPRISE!

I don't know what I said to make Hannah look at me like this, but this was her reaction to me. My dad caught her expression on camera at just the right time. We got a good laugh at this picture.
Sorry for the delay in posting, we went to visit grandparents for a few days. Hannah had a great time with her Papaw and Granny in Gainesville. She is sleeping for longer periods during the night consistantly now which is great. We are now working on getting her used to her crib in her room. She has been sleeping in her pack & play in our room up until now. So, I am off to console an unhappy baby. I will post pictures from the weekend later.

What a glorious day!

Well, for all of you who are wondering, Hannah did sleep through the night again! I have always heard that with babies three times means it's a pattern so we will hope it will happen again tonight.
It was extra wonderful last night because Jason and I went to a movie (thanks Kelly for watching Hannah, you're the best!). So, not only did we get a date night, but we also got a full night of sleep. What could be better?
Hannah is already back asleep for a nap and I am off to make blueberry pancakes to celebrate this occasion.

The start of something beautiful!

HANNAH SLEPT FOR 8 HOURS LAST NIGHT!! Well, let me clarify a bit...she was a bit fussy for the first hour and a half, but once she went to sleep she was out! In fact, Jason and I woke up early this morning and stood over her crib for about 10 minutes checking on her and reveling in the moment...it was beautiful! She then ate and went back to sleep for 5 more hours! Again, it was beautiful!
She turned 6 weeks on Monday, so I am so glad that we are moving in the right direction with sleep at this point. So, we will see how it goes tonight. Hopefully I have not spoken to soon.
We will let you know.
In light of the news, the photo was taken a few days ago when Hannah was fast asleep in her daddy's arms and he was fast asleep on the bed.

Meet Hannah's new cousin

Jason's brother Michael and his wife Amy had a son, Bryce Andrew, yesterday. We are excited to have another little cousin for Hannah to grow up with (there is one more on the way in August when Jason's sister will be having a little girl!).
Bryce was born at 4:05pm EST and was 8lb 8oz and 22in. We hear that he looks like his daddy as well...I guess the Whitlark genes are very strong!
Congrats Michael and Amy, we can't wait to meet Bryce soon!

Nursery Pictures

I am finally getting around to posting some pictures of Hannah's nursery. The colors are lavender and sage green. At the present moment she is still primarily sleeping in her pack and play in our room, but we hope to start transitioning her more into her crib in the next week or so.

Maybe, just maybe

We might have a red head on our hands (not to be confused with a hot head!). When you look at Hannah in just the right light you can see that her hair is turning more and more red. At this point it is actually a nice strawberry blonde. Jason took this picture the other night and you can see that it actually looks more like his red hair color. This just confirms more and more that she looks just like her daddy!

A new video

I am trying to figure out how to take/post videos on the blog. So, please have patience with my first attempts at this. I want everyone to see Hannah like we do everyday, so this was the best way I thought of doing this. I apologize that the video is a bit out of focus at times, I am working on fixing that for next time. In the mean time, enjoy!

The new pacifier

Hannah has taken a liking to her pacifier, but when she spits it out on accident she has now figured out that her hand will suffice. She tries really hard to get her hand/finger/knuckle in her mouth and suck on it and so far she is doing a pretty good job.

Cuddle Bug

This is usually how you can find me and Hannah after I feed and burp her (although she is normally clothed). She is such a cuddler...I love it!

Check her out!

We are working on Hannah's neck control by having tummy time and today she did this fantastic move. She likes to look out the window and she lifted her head all the way up to look today. YAH! I am looking forward to the day when she has full head and neck control.
By the way...she is 5 weeks old today! Time flies when you are having fun!

More Pictures

You can still vote below if you have not already, but I think the answer to our question as to who Hannah looks most like is overwhelmingly Jason (and I am perfectly fine with that!).
I have put up some more pics from the last day or two, including another silly smile picture from Hannah. You have to catch her at just the right moment to capture the smile, but I got one yesterday.

We want your opinion!

We have our own opinions as to who Hannah looks like, but we wanted to see what others think. So, take a look again at the pictures below and cast your vote. Don't worry we won't be offended by the results.

More Auburn Pictures

Mimi (Jason's mom) bought this Auburn outfit for Hannah, so I had to take more pictures of her in it as well. She is such a good fan already!

So cute!

Hannah has now started to smile at us and it is adorable! I caught her and Jason having a daddy-daughter moment today. She is trying to coo and talk and she thinks it is funny when we talk back to her. She is so cute when she makes her little smiley faces at us! This definitely makes all the sleepless nights worth it!

A little Auburn Tiger

I had to dress Hannah in her Auburn outfits and take pictures since she needs to start learning at a young age who her favorite team is. I love that she immediately started posing for the pictures. The first one looks like she is doing a cheer for the team, while the second one looks like she is ready for fight an Alabama fan to defend her beloved tigers. Then she just got tired and went to sleep. Such is the life of an infant.

Big eyes!

Our little superhero

This is how Hannah sleeps all the time. She can also be found with both hands above her head at times. I think it is so cute! I like to think that when she sleeps with both hands above her head it is because she is dreaming of making touchdown signs during an Auburn football game...War Eagle! Pictures of Hannah in her Auburn outfits will be coming soon!

Birth Announcements

Here are the birth announcements that I made for Hannah. I thought I would post them in case you did not receive one in the mail. Also, I ended up making 4 different ones so you can see what we had to choose from.

A funny story

The other day Jason was changing Hannah's diaper (which he does quite often and with delight...he is a great daddy!) and he made a terrible mistake. He likes to give her "belly blows" on her belly button but he decided to do this in the middle of a diaper change while her diaper was off. BAD IDEA! So, from the other room, I heard a scream followed by shouts of disgust from Jason. When I went into the living room I found him across the room with poop and pee all over his shirt, the floor, the changing table, and Hannah. Hannah had a confused look on her face and was unsure of what to do with Jason's reaction. He swears that she aimed for him! Anyway, after much laughing from me and cleaning up we decided that was not something to ever try again. I guess you live and learn with kids! At least Hannah's cuteness makes up for it.
I am sure all of you parents out there can relate to this and probably have a story of your own. Feel free to share your own story in the comments.

Our first family photo

This picture was taken while in the hospital and was our first family photo. We will have to take real family photos soon, maybe this summer sometime when we do not look so tired and sleep deprived. At least it is worth it though!

First real bath

Hannah finally lost her umbilical cord, so Jason gave her a real bath yesterday. She seemed unsure as to whether or not she enjoyed it.

Tummy time

We tried to have some tummy time today on Hannah's boppy, but she did not make it long before falling asleep.

Maybe...

I would like to think that as Hannah and I hung out this morning she flashed me this smile...or maybe she had gas!? I like the former idea better.

We've discovered our tongue

Hannah has been sticking her tongue out for awhile, but today she figured out that she can copy me when I stick my tongue out. So, while I would normally discourage this practice as a teacher, Hannah and I had a good time sticking our tongues out at each other.

Keeping an ever watchful eye

When Molly is not fast asleep on the bed, she is keeping an eye on her little sister. She is fascinated by Hannah and loves to watch her and lick her. It is cute to watch the two of them together.
